Medical Science Liaison Lead (Cardio-Renal-Metabolic)

The position

The purpose of the Field Medical Lead TA role is to provide medical leadership, expertise & strategic vision across the organisation, focused primarily on translating external insight from customers & patients. The role is accountable for co-creating and executing medical strategy in the field, managing broad field medical teams, and budget management with respect to field medical activities. The role is responsible for two MSL Teams working with the pipeline and accountable for the medical launch of new molecules, reports to the Head of Medical Affairs TA CRM.

Tasks & responsibilities

As Medical Science Liaison Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • External medical insight gathering and the timely delivery of actionable insights to the TA asset/core teams to impact appropriate strategic decision making.
  • Creating and leading strategy for medical external engagement, project initiation and delivery and ensuring effective execution in line with TA medical plans to maintain a strategically important contributor in medicine and a valued partner to cross functional departments.
  • Leading the identification of new opportunities for BI to engage and partner with external stakeholders in research or clinical projects to maximize service delivery to patients in line with TA strategy.
  • Ensuring all team activities comply with relevant acts, legal and ethical demands.
  • Ensuring engagement and alignment with Regional Management for site and PI selection for multi-stage clinical trials, to maximize patient access to clinical research and development and contribute to successful recruitment in line with corporate requirement.
  • Optimal delivering of MSL team’s medical activities in medical projects such as Investigator Initiated Studies, External Collaborative Research, clinical trials and Individual scientific programmes where appropriate.
  • Leading effective partnership of the MSL team with the Asset Teams to support activities in the field tacking health system initiatives.
  • Leading and manage individual MSL and team’s performance to ensure optimal delivery of all aspects of role against role profile and medical plan alongside regular constructive feedback on performance and opportunities for development.
  • Managing and overseeing field medical affairs metrics and KPI optimization to measure medical activity value aligned to other TA field medical teams.
  • By ‘in-field’ engagement, ensuring individual MSL’s development through coaching, review, feedback and training to identify new opportunities for growth within and beyond role.

About our future employee

You should have good command of the English language (business, specialized, and medical vocabulary) and previous leadership experience in pharmaceutical industry (medical affairs, field force or similar).

Additionally we are looking for:

  • Higher education – pharmacist, medical-related sciences, biological sciences or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison gained in an innovative pharmaceutical company.
