Senior Systems Engineer, GNO
The Position
Join our NOC (Network Operating Center) of Boehringer Ingelheim in the IT INF NWS (Network and Security) organization and play a key role in ensuring operational excellence of the different network and security infrastructures.
You’ll work closely with IT members from the global IT organization to deliver high quality, business-centric services , and in timely manner during the day-to-day operations in the team. You’ll also help strive for standardization and automation across the different network infrastructures used at Boehringer Ingelheim.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Your main responsibilities include:
- Provide technical network active second level troubleshooting of Network and Security Services (WAN, WLAN, LAN, VLAN, Special Networks, Firewalls, Internet Proxies, Remote Access and Partner Connections), prepare incident reports, escalate to relevant parties promptly and follow through the case incidents
- Provide operational support in the areas of Change and Incident Management, run, administer and optimize the global-wide Network infrastructure
- Carry out proactive management, identifying trends and problem analysis, making use of available network management tools
- Ensure that operational tickets and projects adhere to corporate security standards, Computer Systems Validation & Compliance rules as well as internal working instructions and standard processes
Requirements:
- You should have a 2-3 years hands on experience in troubleshooting and configuring network and security devices (WAN - CISCO, LAN - CISCO, WLAN - CISCO, Internet Proxy - ZScaler, VPN – Global Protect, DHCP - Microsoft and Firewalls – Palo Alto)
- You have a strong technical understanding of routing protocols EIGRP and BGP, MPLS, QoS. Good level of knowledge and working experience in Internetworking, IP routing protocols and troubleshooting MPLS/IP VPN.
- As well as in LAN Cisco technologies, Proxies (Z-Scaler), WIFI Cisco environment, Firewall (PaloAlto) and VPN
- You have either one of the following certifications: CCNA or CCNP; ACE or PCNSE. CCP-N is a plus
- You have knowledge of ITIL processes and methodologies to deliver high quality support to meet customer needs
- You are fluent in oral and written English. Chinese is a plus
