Demand Planning Manager
The Position
The Demand Planning Manager will oversee, manage and steer all demand planning activities for the country across a range of SKUs and product categories and thereby coordinates cross-functional inputs from sales and marketing and other sources to ensure optimized service levels and efficient inventory management.
This role contributes to Corporate net sales and profitability and business goals by efficiently and effectively leading and managing all related supply chain activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):
- Leads cross-functional S&OP meetings and ensures follow-up on decisions, action items, timelines
o Leads annual target setting process with Marketing & Sales teams, especially regarding product/SKU specific Customer Service Level and Forecasting Accuracy
o Builds and maintains robust business relationships with Marketing & Sales to support business needs and optimize SCM performance.
o Contributes to further development of local S&OP best practices document - Demand Planning:
- Manages the collaborative forecasting and replenishment process to align Boehringer and customer plans on key events
- Pro-actively manages the alignment of systems / applications with ROPU CSCM contacts
- Maintains forecasting systems
- Manages demand consensus within the OPU
- Supply Chain Performance:
- Facilitates analytics-based OPU portfolio management/ rationalization process
- Measures key performance indicators to track and evaluate demand planning process
- Prepares analysis, reports and statistics related to Demand Planning and forecasting function
- Supply Chain Excellence:
- Leads cross-functional teams and participates in Global, regional or local special projects.
- Networks in the local and regional supply chain communities, searching for industry and out-of-industry best practices and looking for applicability at Boehringer.
- Identifies strategic activities that will contribute to the development of SCM as a center of excellence.
- Launches, Transfers & Life-cycle Management:
- Optimizes time-to-market for product launches by developing and implementing launch supply scenarios, involving alignment with the cross-functional partners (e. g. Marketing, Regulatory) and global counterparts.
- Manages production transfers by developing and implementing transfer scenarios, including stockpiling where applicable
- Manages Commercial Supply Chain processes and identifies/aligns SKU portfolio optimization and SKU reduction with Marketing
- Supports implementation of launches and transfers by planning and monitoring supply and inventory.
- Monitors and executes SLCI process in order to ensure artworks are being finalized on time as well as all SLCI work items are completed on time.
- Inventory Management:
- Manages supply planning process for locally sourced SKUs to ensure meeting set service level targets
- Ensures that finished goods stocks within OPU and service levels are in line with annual targets
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
- A Master of Science (MSc) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is an advantage
- Certification from APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) preferred
- At least 3-5 years experience in supply chain planning, especially demand planning in Pharma/Life Science industry and/or fast-moving consumer goods industry
- With 3 years of leadership experience

- Extensive know-how in SAP, MS Excel - analytics and mass data processing and Forecasting Tools / Systems
- Proficient in English
