Communications Manager
The Position
Join us in shaping impactful communications and strengthening engagement across the organization.
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic communications leader who will lead, strategize, and execute all communications activities across the OPU. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders, business units, and group functions, ensuring communication initiatives are aligned, consistent, and high‑impact. You will also drive both Human Pharma (HP) and Animal Health (AH) communications in alignment with the Global and ROPU Communications Strategic Agenda, enabling cohesive messaging and strengthening the organization’s overall communication footprint.

Duties & Responsibilities
What you’ll do
- Plan & execute OPU communications strategies in alignment with BI values, business priorities, and global/ROPU guidelines.
- Shape and deliver local campaigns for HP and AH, ensuring alignment with global and/or regional strategic agendas.
- Develop communication platforms and formats for effective audience engagement.
- Position BI’s brands across internal and external channels.
- Drive OPU & ROPU strategic agendas, including annual communication plans and activity tracking.
- Implement governance and core communication processes to ensure consistent and compliant execution.
- Serve as a key liaison with ROPU Communications, local ExCom, Business Unit and Group Functions leadership.
- Manage third‑party agencies for content development and campaign implementation.
- Support internal communications and employee engagement initiatives in partnership with other teams.
- Ensure adherence to corporate branding and social media governance.
Job Complexity & Stakeholder Landscape
- Operates in a highly matrixed organization, engaging cross‑functional partners at all levels.
- Interacts closely with the General Manager, executive committee and employees.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate must have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in communications, ideally in a pharma/healthcare setting.
- Proven background in corporate and product communications with broad scope.
- Strong experience in leadership communications, crisis & issues management.
- Ability to run impactful local campaigns and drive effective internal communications.
- Experience working in matrixed organizations.
- Excellent editorial and copywriting skills.
- Strategic thinker who can translate vision into actionable plans.
- Confident communicator, able to navigate pushback and challenge.
