Accountant

The Position

• Managing the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements according to German/ Philippine Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and fiscal/tax rulings.
• Lead  compliant application of local government regulations,  tax rulings,  and  compliance standards in close coordination with different workstream in GBS Center (GBSC).
• Responsible for all areas related to general ledger accounting such as, but not limited to Subsidiary Ledger and General Ledger reconciliation, preparation and review of accruals/provisions, bank reconciliation, and all manually created journal entries.
   

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly and yearend close processes, including journal entries are  appropriately documented and reconciliations of accounts are reviewed.
• Jointly perform management and statutory reporting requirements with GBSC.
• Provide support  during local tax audits in coordination with GBSC Tax teams and in consultation with tax related advisory services. 
• Monitor and analyse local/global tax related developments and assess the possible impact on the business, providing insights and counsel in key business planning decisions.
• Assist with Financial, Internal and Tax audits.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to internal company controls relevant to role.
   

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Certified Public Accountant is a must.
• An expert in the field with at least 5-7 years of relevant experience. Experience in the conduct of local authority tax audit is an advantage.
• Strong functional and good business acumen. 
• Strong technical skills in systems and tools.
• Strong process and analytical thinking, especially ability to understand and work on complex controlling, business and tax/finance related topics.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Team player and strong collaborator.
• Ability to prioritize work under pressure and deliver to agreed deadlines.
• Thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to details in all aspects of work.
