Key Account Manager - Companion Animal

THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you an experienced professional passionate about animal health and ready to take the next step in your career within the Healthcare industry? You could be our next Companion Animal Key Account Manager in our Animal Health team in Lisbon!
In this role, you will help driving sustainable growth and market share within the Pets category across key retail channels, such as parapharmacies, pet specialty stores, pharmacy groups, and e-retailers, by building strong customer partnerships, creating effective commercial plans, and delivering excellent execution.
This position is field based, with a regular office presence of at least one day per week, and you will report directly to the Head of Business Unit Companion Animals.
HOW YOU’LL FIT IN:
- Build and strengthen relationships with key national and regional retail accounts.
- Develop tailored business plans for each customer, aligned with company objectives.
- Negotiate annual commercial agreements, including pricing, promotions, and shelf positioning.
- Expand distribution and product listings by identifying new business opportunities.
- Enhance collaboration with key pharmaceutical distributors to increase penetration in the pharmacy segment.
- Develop innovative commercial strategies that increase market share and accelerate the growth of the Pet Health Care portfolio.
- Monitor customer performance through regular business reviews and performance tracking.
- Analyze market data, POS data, customer insights, and category trends to identify opportunities and optimize commercial strategies.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting and product availability.
- Prepare regular business reviews, customer performance analyses, and reports.
YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Veterinary Sciences or similar fields.
- Demonstrated experience in key account management in either FMCG, Consumer Healthcare or Animal Health brands across pharmacy, mass market, or specialty retail channels.
- Good understanding of retail dynamics; knowledge of the pet care market is an advantage.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent command of the Portuguese & English languages.
- Excellent organizational skills with experience in sales analysis and performance tracking.
- Digital proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and ideally, retail analytics tools.
- Natural networker with well-developed communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required, including occasional overnight stays.
