THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our Animal Health Research organization in Lelystad and lead a team developing innovative analytical methods that accelerate vaccine and biologics development. You will play a key role in shaping analytical strategies, introducing new technologies, and supporting global vaccine innovation projects. This is a permanent position combining scientific leadership, people management, and cross-functional collaboration in an international research environment.

This position is based in Lelystad (Netherlands) and reports directly to the Scientific Expert ID & Site Head Lelystad.

HOW YOU’LL FIT IN:

  • Lead the Analytical Development team and ensure timely delivery of project objectives.
  • Develop and implement analytical methods to characterize vaccine antigens, intermediates, and final products.
  • Drive analytical support for research, process development, and technology transfer activities.
  • Establish and improve analytical platforms, including immunological, virological, and chromatographic assays.
  • Manage laboratory resources, equipment, and scientific staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to deliver robust analytical solutions and high-quality technical data.

 

YOU BRING:

  • PhD or MSc in Virology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Sciences, or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in analytical development for vaccines, biologics, or complex biological products.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical techniques such as ELISA, virological assays, HPLC/SEC, or related technologies.
  • Previous experience in QC - GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Proven leadership experience in managing scientific teams and laboratory activities.
  • Experience working in a regulated development, quality, or research environment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills in an international setting.
