THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you ready to gain hands-on experience in immunoassay development? Are you curious about how vaccines are developed for highly variable RNA viruses? Then this challenge is for you!
We are looking for a talented and motivated student to join the Analytical Development department in a technician role located in Lelystad, where we develop biological, physical chemical and clinical assays.
Join our team and embark on an exciting journey to design and optimize a pan-specific ELISA for detecting a highly variable RNA virus with multiple serotypes and subtypes. This internship will provide you with valuable expertise in antigen selection, assay optimization, and data analysis.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing research and methodologies.
• ELISA Development: Design direct, indirect, or competitive ELISA formats.
• Optimization & Validation: Test assay sensitivity and cross-reactivity using diverse viral strains or sera.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Interpret results and compile findings into a final report.
WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM
• Educational background in Virology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related;
• Basic experience with ELISA, protein expression and bioinformatics is a plus;
• Accountable: Prioritizes work and drives execution excellence through accuracy, discipline and collaboration;
• Passion, creativity, and enthusiasm demonstrated through collaboration and work in teams
