THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you passionate about technology and eager to make an impact in the pharmaceutical industry? Our IT Operations team is looking for a technology-focused and team-oriented professional to join us as an IT System Engineer. In this role, you will provide cutting-edge IT support for the business area of Engineering while delivering serialization solutions to support our manufacturing business.

This exciting position combines elements of business consulting and system engineering, offering you the opportunity to collaborate with global teams, contribute to innovative projects, and grow your expertise in a dynamic and international environment.

As an IT System Engineer, you will work closely with engineering, OT/Automation, IT Infrastructure, and manufacturing teams to design, implement, and optimize data acquisition platforms and historian environments.

You will ensure robust data flows from SCADA systems, PLCs, industrial controllers, and other OT systems into centralized enterprise historian platforms (e.g., Inmation).

You will also support global implementation projects, system life‑cycle activities, and drive standardization and harmonization of data interfaces across sites.

You will work in our plant in Koropi, Greece, reporting administratively to the local Head of IT while reporting functionally to the Head of IT O&L Process Integration, based in Germany.

 

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to deliver and implement data acquisition and historian solutions supporting business objectives.
  • Support the design, build, and operation of platforms for industrial data collection, SCADA connectivity, and OT/IT integration.
  • Support global implementation projects involving historian systems, onboarding of equipment, SCADA systems, and industrial interfaces.
  • Assist with the full system life cycle (design, planning, implementation, run) of historian and data acquisition platforms.
  • Collaborate with functional architects for demand management, requirement documentation, and project prioritization.
  • Represent your team in crossfunctional project teams and support adherence to BI governance and system documentation standards.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, IT, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technologyoriented field.
  • Initial professional experience (e.g., internship, student role, entrylevel position) in automation, production IT, or engineering environments.
  • Curiosity and willingness to gain handson experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and IT/OT infrastructure.
  • Motivation to build knowledge in industrial data acquisition, historian systems, and automation standards such as ISA88 and ISA95.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial communication protocols or historian systems, data acquisition platforms, SCADA/PLC systems (e.g. Siemens/SIMATIC (WinCC, PCS7), Schneider Electric, Rockwell Automation, GE or other Industrial SCADA Platforms, experience with Inmation is a strong plus).
  • Familiarity with IT/OT related technologies such as Linux, scripting (Python), containerization (Docker), Kubernetes/OpenShift or databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server).
  • Interest in modern IT practices (DevOps, Git, Jira, Confluence) and willingness to develop further expertise.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders.
  • Solutionoriented mindset and ability to work in an international and intercultural environment.
  • Excellent command of the Greek and English languages.
