THE OPPORTUNITY

At Boehringer Ingelheim's Koropi Pharmaceutical Production Site, the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operational continuity. This position is dedicated to supporting the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive EHS programs, safeguarding the well-being of our employees, the environment, and the integrity of our operations.

 

This position is based in Koropi (Greece) and reports directly to the EHS Manager.

Established in a strategic location near Athens, the Koropi site has played a significant role in the company's global operations, focusing on manufacturing, and distribution. YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support EHS Management System: Prepare, record, and monitor EHS&S KPIs; assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations; prepare EHS presentations and documents.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Assist the EHS Compliance & Risk Management Expert in maintaining KPIs balance scorecard, monitoring legislative directives, and ensuring change control procedures are in place.
  • Contractor and Supplier Management: Support the deployment of Contractors EHS&S program, assist in supplier selection, onboarding, and evaluation.
  • Training and Culture Programs: Propose improvements for EHS training programs, execute EHS&S culture deployment and communication programs, and perform regular safety walks.
  • Audit and Emergency Preparedness: Support internal and external audits, monitor EHS risk assessments, ensure work permits issuance, and update emergency procedures and plans.
  • Crisis Management and Measurements: Assist in crisis management for specific EHS requirements and organize health, safety, and environmental measurements on site.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Educational Background: University degree in chemistry, physics, or engineering; MSC or higher degree is appreciated.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an industrial environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector or process industry, particularly in an EHS role.
  • Languages: Fluent (native) in both English and Greek. 
  • Knowledge: Understanding of legislation, industry regulatory requirements, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, and risk management systems.
  • Skills: Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to work with SAP and project management know-how.
