The position:
The Technical Manager – Companion Animals will play a key role in supporting commercial objectives by delivering high‑quality technical expertise across sales and marketing activities. This includes providing technical/product guidance and support to various internal and external stakeholders, including vets, retail stores, and wholesalers.
This role will report to the Sales and Marketing Lead- Pets.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for companion animal products by addressing veterinary inquiries, organizing field visits to key customers (vet hospitals, vet practices, retailers, wholesalers, etc.), and offering treatment/prevention solutions for disease management.
- Conduct technical training for the pets’ sales force, including new product launches and onboarding of new employees. Prepare technical toolkits (presentations, protocols, FAQs) and adapt corporate training materials to the local language.
- Organize local and national pets’ scientific meetings with veterinarians to support products and educate pet owners on preventive and curative approaches for major diseases.
- Be up to date with field studies (regulatory, efficacy, indication), manage customer claims.
- Develop and maintain relationships with companion animal key opinion leaders (KOLs) and collaborate with internal teams to support product strategies.
- Actively participate in adverse event data collection, analysis, and reporting, including managing sales force complaint calls and ensuring accurate input into the pharmacovigilance database for companion animals.
Requirements:
- Must hold a Veterinary Degree (BVSc) or Specialist Degree (Microbiology-Virology) or similar
- Minimum 3 years of technical experience in the animal health industry.
- Minimum 3 years of companion animal private practice will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health products would be an advantage.
