As part of our Employee Communications team within Corporate Affairs, you support strategic internal communications that empower, inspire and engage our global workforce. Through high-quality content and editorial work on key corporate topics, you help employees understand our strategy, leadership and culture and see how their work contributes to our strategic business goals. By enabling effective change communication and meaningful dialogue, you strengthen employee engagement and help shape Boehringer Ingelheim’s reputation from the inside. The traineeship at the Employee Communications team (German Volontariat) enables participants to gain professional development and profound insights into working practices at Boehringer Ingelheim’s headquarters. The position is designed to provide a comprehensive and practical understanding of different communication areas within the organization. Regular professional feedback will be provided to ensure your continuous growth and development.
Tasks & responsibilities
- As part of the team, you support the development and execution of effective global internal communication strategies for highly strategic corporate topics.
- You create, write and publish content for various internal channels.
- You monitor and manage our communities on our internal social media platform.
- You work with key internal stakeholders and external agencies to execute projects from a cross-functional perspective.
- Ensure quality, consistency and continuous improvement of internal communications
As a trainee within a team that forms part of Corporate Affairs, you undertake two 2-week internships within the wider Corporate Affairs team to learn more about other areas of communication and broaden your understanding of the organization. You also get the opportunity to engage in exchanges with other trainees to share knowledge and experiences. In addition, you attend one or two external seminars or training sessions for your professional development.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or any other relevant field
- Excellent command of English, both in written and spoken form
- Prior experience in communications through internships or part-time jobs is preferred
- Experience in copywriting and editing
- Skillful use of MS Office suite including the application of AI
- High level of initiative and motivation, a structured way of working, and excellent team skills
- Great performance in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings
What we can offer you
- A full-time traineeship is 37.5 hours per week.
- During your communications traineeship you will receive a wage of €2,800 gross per month.
- You are eligible for a yearly bonus (VPR).
- You will be given 2.5 days of paid time off for every full month of the traineeship.
- In our team, we offer a hybrid working model. This means you can work remotely for several days per week.
- The reporting manager will develop a traineeship plan with you to enable a learning curve throughout the program. You and the reporting manager are responsible to ensure that the plan is executed.
The duration of the traineeship (Volontariat) is 18 months. Ideally, the start of the traineeship shall be in September 2026. The earliest start date is August 17, 2026. Please enter the desired period in your application.
