We are looking for a Consumer Experience Head for TA Obesity & Liver Health—a senior leader who will define and embed our global consumer and patient engagement (DTC/DTP) strategy. With obesity as a core enterprise growth driver, this role is pivotal in preparing and launching our obesity portfolio and establishing a differentiated, scalable, consumer-centric engagement approach in a highly competitive market.
This first-of-its-kind role within Boehringer will lay the foundation for an integrated consumer experience strategy, spanning activation, engagement, and retention, people, process and most importantly technology requirements to shaping Boehringer Ingelheim’s long-term direction.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Define and lead the long-term consumer experience strategy for TA Obesity & Liver Health, positioning consumer centricity as the top priority and a strategic competitive advantage for Boehringer Ingelheim in the obesity market.
- Develop and operationalize a consumer-first engagement strategy, leveraging data, segmentation, behavioral insights, and real-world evidence to design impactful, full-funnel engagement models from awareness to retention.
- Establish consumer health and consumer goods thinking as a core differentiator, ensuring Boehringer Ingelheim competes effectively in an increasingly consumer-driven and competitive market.
- Enable scalable consumer engagement solutions by defining the technology vision and partnering with IT, Data & Analytics, and external providers to deliver compliant, fit-for-purpose platforms and tools.
- Act as a an orchestrator and a senior strategic partner to Global Brand Heads, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Data & Analytics, IT, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and regional/local organizations. Specifically partner closely with the US Consumer Head to align innovation and enable global scalability.
- Lead relationships with strategic external partners (technology providers, telehealth, fulfillment, community partners)
- Build and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration while embedding consumer-centric decision-making across the organization.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Health Sciences, Life Sciences, or related fields; Master’s degree or equivalent required, MBA strongly preferred.
- Extensive and recent senior-level experience in consumer marketing, DTC/DTP, and digital marketing, ideally in pharma, consumer health, animal health, or relevant consumer goods sectors (e.g., health tech, e-commerce).
- USA Consumer experience is a nice to have
- Proven expertise in designing and scaling end-to-end consumer journeys and engagement models, with a strong strategic capability in marketing technology, analytics, and data platforms.
- Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to operate effectively in highly regulated, global matrix environments.
- Executive level stakeholder management and influencing
- Analytical, data-driven, and consumer-centric mindset, with appropriate experience in digital, data, and AI technologies. International experience and cultural adaptability, with proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
