Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Animal Health Demand Forecasting

The Position

Step into a key role at Boehringer Ingelheim’s Animal Health team and contribute to the transformation of global forecasting and demand planning. Drive innovation and excellence by supporting the implementation of SAP IBP for Demand, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and seamless adoption while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.

This position has a hybrid setup with approximately min. 2 days per week on site.

This position is limited until December 31st, 2026.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will act as a key contributor during the scoping, and template build/pilot phases of the SAP IBP for Demand project.
  • Furthermore, you will contribute to the functional design of demand forecasting processes within SAP IBP for Demand.
  • You will collaborate with Global Business Services, Global Commercial Business, IT, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment of forecasting processes with strategic business needs.
  • Also, you will facilitate workshops, training sessions, and bootcamps to build capability across global and regional teams.
  • Expert input will be provided by you into training content, testing scenarios, and change management activities for global and regional stakeholders.
  • Finally, you will foster process adherence, and drive continuous improvement in areas like forecast monetization, reporting, and analytics capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics or related field
  • Several years of experience in demand forecasting, with knowledge of SAP IBP for Demand or other forecasting tools (e.g. JDA, Kinaxis RapidResponse…)
  • Experience working in cross-functional, global and local teams with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience in process design, system implementation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical modeling and forecasting algorithms (e.g., exponential smoothing, demand sensing, machine learning)
  • Excellent communication and change management capabilities
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
