Senior Scientist MSAT Pharma Analytics
The Position
As the “go-to” scientific expert for MSAT and Global Supply leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring excellence in BIAH products, processes, and test methods throughout the product and process lifecycle, while also supporting new product developments in Global Innovation AH. Building on your expertise, you will maintain a strong knowledge of both basic and specialized analytical techniques and actively scout innovative analytical technologies to drive future manufacturing platforms. Located at Boehringer Ingelheim’s headquarters in Germany, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional Global Innovation research and development teams as well as Human Pharma partners to shape the future of animal health innovation.
This position has a hybrid setup with approximately 2 days per week on site.
This position is part time eligible with min. 60%.
Tasks & responsibilities
- As expert in analytical sciences and technologies, you take the lead on scientific projects on analytical processes, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical transfers for global lifecycle and new development products.
- As a project leader, contributor, and investigator, you will execute independent technical deliverables and drive cross-functional, multi-site analytical projects.
- Driving innovation, you will lead strategy development for process optimization, also integrating advanced analytics and analytical test method improvements that deliver clear business advantages.
- Taking ownership of project timelines, you will plan responsibilities, lead scientific discussions, and provide mentorship to junior analytical talent within the Pharma network.
- To support regulatory processes, you will resolve analytical issues arising from inspections and guide responses to Regulatory Authorities on product registrations, geographical expansions, and post-approval changes.
- With strong communication skills, you will prepare and present progress updates to MSAT and Global Supply leadership, analyze complex data, and document findings through detailed reports, protocols, and presentations.
- By building external partnerships, you will maintain a strong network with analytical experts, collaborate with Global Innovation and Pharma sites, and support procurement of raw materials, equipment, and laboratory instrumentation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in scientific discipline (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological sciences preferred) with longterm direct industry experience; additional qualification in Business (Supply Chain, Economics) preferred
- Strong scientific analytical knowledge and technical leadership skills
- Good management skills to build and work across a global network to achieve results
- Strong expertise in troubleshooting analytical assay problems and root cause analysis of manufacturing issues related to active ingredients or finished products
- Design and direct studies that generate data required to identify and document problems and provide solutions to Operations or manufacturing sites
- Demonstrated leadership and influence through communications and ability to perform in a diverse environment within and across organizations
- Fluency in English required – additional language skills are an asset
- Willingness to travel internationally (~10%)
