Senior Manager Global Tax Operations

The Position 

As Senior Manager Tax Operations you will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality global tax compliance and supporting the digital transformation of tax processes. In this role, you will take ownership of complex tax compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external service providers and contribute to the development of scalable, technology‑enabled processes. You will help strengthen the global tax operations framework, drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and risk management and act as a trusted expert within the Corporate Tax organization. 

Tasks & responsibilities 

  • Governance of defined global tax compliance processes (e.g., CIT, VAT, WHT, tax accounting) to ensure timely and accurate execution in line with legal requirements.  
  • Steering external service providers, ensuring service quality, operational alignment and transparency across assigned deliverables.  
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and support their implementation in processes and compliance cycles.  
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization across tax compliance processes by identifying optimization potential and contributing to the deployment of technologydriven solutions.  
  • Support the enhancement of the tax compliance and risk control framework through strong documentation standards and quality assurance.  
  • Provide expert guidance to local finance teams and act as a key contact for global stakeholders such as Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Corporate Tax & Trade Governance as well as GBS.  
  • Contribute to global initiatives aimed at reducing manual effort, accelerating compliance timelines, mitigating risks and improving operational excellence through digitalization and innovation.  
  • Serve as a subjectmatter expert in tax operations and technology topics, supporting the Global Head of Tax Operations & Tax Technology in strategic and operational initiatives. 

Requirements 

  • Diploma/University degree with focus on Business Administration/ Law/ Economics or comparable major, ideally specialized in Tax or Certified German Tax Advisor or equivalent international education 
  • Proven relevant tax experience in-house or as consultant 
  • Broad tax technical knowledge including international taxation, tax procedural law and tax compliance 
  • Experience in working on international tax matters and knowledge about tax operations and guiding principles for tax compliance 
  • Good organization, communication, and management skills 
  • Hands-on mentality, solution-oriented and experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues 
  • Fluent in English, basic German desirable
