Senior Manager Corporate Treasury - Asset Management

The Position 

We are looking for a Senior Manager in the area of Corporate Treasury – Asset Management. In this role, you will manage our financial resources, design strategic investment approaches for publicly listed and alternative capital investments, implement these strategies, and work closely with internal and external partners. Your work will have a significant impact on other units and contribute to the strategic direction and objectives of Boehringer Ingelheim.

Tasks & responsibilities 

  • Your extensive expertise in finance and capital markets will be applied to shape the long-term investment strategy for the group’s financial assets (publicly listed and alternative capital investments).
  • The further expansion and management of a balanced credit portfolio will be driven by you, with a focus on identifying attractive public (e.g., high yield) and private (especially private credit) investments.
  • You will be responsible for the selection (manager/fund selection, due diligence, contract negotiation), management, and monitoring of external partners (asset managers, service providers, consultants)
  • Decision-making documents for complex issues are prepared by you for management/investment committees in a target-group-oriented and comprehensible manner and you collaborate closely with internal stakeholders.
  • Developing comprehensive reporting and risk management solutions for the group’s financial assets will also be part of your role.

Requirements 

  • Diploma or master’s degree in finance or business administration (CFA® or comparable further qualifications such as CAIA® are a plus) 
  • Several years of professional experience at a bank, asset manager, institutional investor, or in the treasury department of a company with a focus on asset management
  • Deep understanding of capital markets and all aspects of asset management – especially in credit and alternative investments (particularly private credit)
  • Broad professional network that enables you to keep an eye on the capital markets and identify attractive investment opportunities
  • Analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate in an internationally and constantly changing work environment
  • Confident handling of common market information systems 
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in German and English
