Senior Legal Counsel Corporate Legal IP Law/Patent Litigation

The Position

In your new role, you will be responsible for protecting and defending our proprietary pharmaceuticals against patent infringements by our competitors. You will provide legal support related to patent disputes of our Group companies’ human pharmaceuticals business and actively defend the market exclusivity of our products.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • You are an expert in enforcing and defending patents and advise the business accordingly.
  • You develop enforcement strategies for the existing patent portfolio.
  • You take charge of case-related management and instruct the network of external lawyers and patent attorneys in court and out-of-court patent-related disputes (including infringement and nullity proceedings).
  • You analyze infringement allegations by other patent holders and develop defense strategies.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified lawyer, preferably with honors in the second state examination. An additional qualification (LL.M. or comparable degree with a focus on IP law) is desirable
  • Long-term relevant professional experience in external law firms or in a comparable in-house position as a corporate counsel
  • Experience in steering, coordinating, and managing patent litigation
  • Initial experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong strategic understanding and the ability to quickly grasp and clearly present legally and technically complex matters
  • High level of teamwork and excellent communication skills in English
