Principal Clinical Research Associate Field Trials - Team Lead (m/w/d)

The Position

Join our Clinical Operations team in the role of Principal Clinical Research Associate -Operations Lead and play a key role in shaping the successful planning and execution of Field trials for the development of innovative veterinary products. In this highly collaborative position, you will lead a local team of Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Trial Coordinators while contributing to cross-functional study activities. Based in a dynamic and international environment, this role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and drive operational excellence.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In this role, you will lead a local team of Clinical Research Associates and Clinical Trial Coordinators based in Ingelheim, ensuring the successful delivery of clinical field trials across all Animal Health modalities, covering the full product lifecycle from early research through development, licensure, and lifecycle management.
  • By managing team resources effectively, you will ensure all field trials are planned and executed according to protocol and project timelines.
  • As part of your responsibility, you will ensure all team members are properly trained on SOPs, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • With a focus on talent development, you will recruit, train, and retain qualified team members.
  • Within your area of responsibility, you will ensure that all field trials comply with applicable regulations, protocols, and quality standards such as GCP/VICH, EMA, and FDA/CVM requirements.
  • When required, you will support operational execution by acting as a Clinical Research Associate for assigned field trials.
  • In addition, you will collaborate across global and cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with external partners such as investigator sites and service providers.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, or a related scientific discipline with relevant Clinical Operations or Field Trial experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field combined with long term experience in Clinical Operations, Field Trials, or a comparable area.
  • Proven expertise in VICH GCP regulations.
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to motivate and manage teams in a global environment.
  • Ability to implement appropriate quality levels across different development phases.
  • Capability to drive process improvements and establish new ways of working.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and areas of expertise.
  • Strong sense of accountability, ownership, agility, integrity, and trust.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
