We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our global IT operations and lab security team. In this key role, you will play an active part in ensuring the physical security of our international sites by developing, maintaining, and supporting innovative systems and processes. As part of the IT O&L Site Security team, you will work with dedicated colleagues around the globe to ensure the protection of our employees and facilities. You will contribute your technical expertise and continuously expand your knowledge of modern security tools and industry best practices.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will coordinate vulnerability assessment measures and the planning and implementation of patch cycles in collaboration with site security and local operating units.
  • In addition, you will analyze existing business processes with the support of your IT colleagues and identify potential for optimization.
  • You will evaluate requirements and present suitable solutions or improvement measures to increase IT security and efficiency.
  • Working closely with internal and external partners, you will ensure that security solutions function properly and are continuously developed.
  • With appropriate guidance, you will identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks to company data and systems—both from external threats and internal vulnerabilities or third-party providers.
  • You will work closely with colleagues from the GFE Security department to evaluate new technologies and tools and support their implementation.
  • Finally, you will take on the system administration and maintenance of assigned systems, document operational processes, and provide active support for physical security platforms such as video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection.

 

Requirements

  • Completed degree (bachelor's or master's), ideally in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field, as well as several years of relevant professional experience in the IT or business environment.
  • Basic knowledge of network technologies and security concepts, in particular TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, VPN, and WAF.
  • Technical understanding of computer hardware and operating systems, in particular Windows.
  • Experience in programming or system configuration and knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with project management basics and ability to work in a structured manner in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to understand and implement technical requirements in your own area of responsibility.
  • Fluency in German and English
