Junior System Engineer

Tasks & responsibilities
- In your new role, you will work with the global MES team to transform the MES landscape into a cloud-native architecture using OpenShift/Kubernetes and PostgreSQL, while supporting deployments with Docker and Oracle integration.
- You will contribute to the automation, optimization, and operation of MES solutions based on existing templates and support the system life cycle of local and global manufacturing solutions.
- Furthermore, you will collaborate with functional architects on demand management and project prioritization, and lead MES implementation projects at global production sites.
- You will recommend improvements for MES solutions, collaborate with OT teams for seamless integration with shop floor systems, and ensure understanding of OT processes.
- Moreover, you will support the creation and configuration of Master Batch Records (MBRs) and provide incident and problem management for MES deployments globally.
- Additionally, you will ensure timely issue resolution and drive continuous system reliability improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in IT, Engineering, or a related natural sciences field
- First professional experience in production processes with a focus on IT systems or engineering; project management experience in small/medium-sized global projects is a plus
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g., Körber PAS-X 3.2/3.3) and OT environments in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including data acquisition and control systems
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure technologies (Windows/Linux, Citrix), database systems (Oracle/PostgreSQL), Docker, and RedHat OpenShift/Kubernetes; MBR design and lifecycle management experience is advantageous
- Strong team player with a solution-oriented mindset, adaptability, and a preference for working in international and intercultural environments
- Excellent command of German and English is mandatory
