Junior / Associate UX Designer
The Position
Join our BI X team in Ingelheim as a Junior / Associate UX Designer and help create groundbreaking digital products that transform how Boehringer Ingelheim works. You’ll combine cutting-edge research, psychology, storytelling, and design to turn real user needs into impactful solutions. In a creative and self-directed environment, you’ll shape user experiences endtoend, from strategy, to visual design with visible impact on the business.
The position is based in Ingelheim.
Tasks & responsibilities
- You will perform user research, conduct usability tests, and develop and define innovative ideas while considering legal and regulatory demands.
- In addition, you will design wireframes and models and make them available in rapid iterations.
- Furthermore, identifying the customers’ unmet need, prototyping and usability testing will be part of your tasks as well as driving continuous improvement for the product.
- You will also enable the team to continuously prioritize user experience, business value, and cost-efficiency and must facilitate a deep connection between the users and the team.
- As part of your role, you will draw upon results from qualitative and quantitative user research to create these novel solutions.
Additional tasks for Associate
- One of your key responsibilities will be to design high fidelity visual assets and refined interaction patterns which the team can easily translate into code.
- Additionally, you will create, organize and facilitate design workshops and design sprints to identify problems and potential solutions.
Requirements
- Degree in Interaction Design, UX Design, Service Design, HCI or comparable degrees, plus knowledge of standard UX tools (Sketch, InVision, Figma, InDesign), broader design and innovation trends, and industry technologies
- Knowledge of UX best practices, experience assisting or facilitating workshops, and a solid understanding of user-centered design and design thinking
- Skills in planning and conducting user research, formative feedback sessions, rapid prototyping, heuristic evaluations, and usability studies
- Strong communication skills to convey design processes, ideas, and solutions effectively, along with enthusiasm for close collaboration with teams and stakeholders
- Passion for solving user pain points, openness to feedback and constructive criticism, and the ability to provide thoughtful feedback to colleagues
- Proficiency in English
Additional requirements for Associate UX Designer
- First years of UX design experience and the ability to conduct thorough user research and synthesis, resulting in detailed requirements
- Experience designing complete end-to-end user experiences, including addressing unmet and latent user needs
- Skill in translating abstract ideas into concrete design implications
- Experience working in cross functional product teams and actively evangelizing UX and user research.
