IT Business Consultant SAP Application Lifecycle Management

The Position

Join the SAP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) team and help shape the future of SAP ALM at Boehringer Ingelheim. You will support and further develop our SAP Solution Manager landscape while driving our strategic evolution towards SAP Cloud ALM and modern ALM capabilities.

This position has a hybrid setup with 2 days per week on site.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • You will operate, maintain and continuously improve SAP Solution Manager, with a focus on change and request management (ChaRM), custom code management, test management and ALM processes.
  • Supporting system upgrades, process optimization and implementation of new ALM capabilities will also be part of your role.
  • As IT Business Consultant, you will also manage external vendors.
  • Furthermore, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver stable and compliant ALM services.
  • You will contribute to the evaluation, adoption and integration of SAP Cloud ALM.
  • Finally, you will help define the future ALM roadmap and support the transition from SAP Solution Manager to Cloud ALM.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a comparable discipline or a Bachelor’s degree with more relevant professional experience
  • Several years of experience as IT Business Consultant, SAP Consultant or in a similar role with strong experience with customization of SAP Solution Manager, especially Change and Transport Management (ChaRM); development skills are a plus
  • Good understanding of Application Lifecycle Management processes and SAP operations
  • Experience working in a GxP regulated computerized system environment is an advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM or a strong interest in helping shape its adoption and future direction
  • Strong communication skills, ownership mindset and ability to work in an international environment
  • Experience working with Jira is required, experience working with ServiceNow is an advantage
  • Very good written and spoken English language skills as well as advanced German language skills are necessary
