Global Senior Category Manager - Architectural and Engineering Services

Acting globally. Working cross functionally. Contributing to major investment projects to ensure our product portfolio at Boehringer Ingelheim. As Senior Category Manager for A/E Services (CapEx projects) in Global Sourcing at Boehringer Ingelheim you’ll be on an exciting mission.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will drive and shape globally the Sourcing category “Architectural and Engineering Services” for CapEx (investment)-projects, including creation and implementation of respective global category strategy as well as strategic supplier management. 
  • Furthermore, you will set up and negotiate international contracts in alignment with global Business Partners.
  • As part of the Global Category Engineering, Construction and Equipment team, your work will align with our global Sourcing and business strategy. 
  • You will provide guidance to the respective local Sourcing organizations on how to set-up and monitor CapEx projects successfully in terms of contracting methodologies and KPI tracking.
  • In your role you will govern and monitor major CapEx-(invest) projects from Sourcing point of view, which support BI’s overall product portfolio. 
  • With your experience and expertise, you will work closely with the Global Category Head by implementing Sourcing excellence as well as global governance principles in order to deliver CapEx projects in time, cost and quality. 
  • You will build effective partnerships with suppliers to deliver best Sourcing value to BI.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business administration with a strong knowledge of CapEx Project-Management processes or equivalent long-term professional experience 
  • Several years of contracting/ sourcing /purchasing experience of Architectural and Engineering Services in local or international markets
  • Strong project-management skills in complex investment projects
  • Profound legal expertise in contract law (German law of obligations) 
  • Global and intercultural working experience, ability to work in cross-functional teams and willingness for international business trips
  • Strong communication and change management skills
  • A very good command of German and Business fluent English
