Category Vision Manager

The Position

Our highly successful global animal pharmaceutical company is currently implementing a number of dynamic structural changes, including a newly created Category Growth team within its Global Strategic Accounts (GSAM). From within this Head Office function, you will help shape how value is unlocked beyond products by working cross‑functionally to deliver customer‑led growth strategies and solutions. The position is based in Ingelheim, Germany, a delightful location on the Rhine Gorge, close to the Unesco World Heritage site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, surrounded by vineyards and orchards, yet within an hour’s drive to Frankfurt and its International airport.  Flexible working practices, on-site medical facilities and gym, sports clubs and special social programmes for new, expat employees and their families are additional to a highly competitive renumeration package and, if needed, relocation expenses.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Collaborating cross functionally, you will design & lead the successful implementation of localized category growth strategies with key retail and veterinary customers.
  • You will enable data-driven decision making by translating valuable insights into compelling actionable recommendations for stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • You will lead the identification of strategic growth opportunities that align with the organization’s strategic goals and our customers’ needs.
  • You will create value by partnering global business segments and functions to maximize our existing assets and create new scalable value propositions that will enable us to deliver Triple Wins (benefits for our customers, end users and Animal Health).
  • You actively contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial excellence practices.

Requirements

  • University degree or Diploma; preference for Masters degree or further education
  • Extensive experience in the FMCG / Consumer Goods industry (or similar) across Category Management, Sales and Customer/Shopper/Trade Marketing
  • Experienced in building successful category vision strategies and customer marketing initiatives from scratch, in addition to executing them across multiple markets
  • A strong commercial aptitude, combined with analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and creative problem‑solving skills
  • A track record of successfully driving impactful change – in particular with global customers
  • An agile mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity within a matrix organization.
  • An effective collaborator and communicator
