(Senior) HEOR Manager - TA Oncology

The Position

We are looking for an experienced, team-oriented and dynamic individual to join BI’s Corporate Market Access Team in the Therapeutic Area (TA) Oncology as Global (Senior) HEOR Manager. 
In this strategic function, you will develop and execute state-of-the-art HEOR strategies and work closely with committed colleagues to shape value propositions for BI’s innovative oncology therapies. 
 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you will develop and execute global health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) strategies, shape the value proposition, and demonstrate the medical and economic payer-relevant value for assigned BI products.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional value teams and evidence teams, ensure that the payer, organized customer groups and market access stakeholder needs are appropriately reflected in the indication & asset strategies, and the evidence generation plans within and beyond our clinical development program.
  • You will be responsible for efficient and timely development of key HEOR deliverables (e.g., value dossier, economic models, literature reviews, retrospective database analyses, indirect comparisons, real world evidence data) to secure optimal market access, successful HTA assessments, optimal pricing, reimbursement, and formulary listing.
  • You will lead the development of patient-reported outcome (PRO) measurement strategies to ensure that the patient perspective is fully captured in our clinical trial program, as well as analyze and disseminate PRO data to inform regulatory approval and patient access decisions.
  • You will generate a comprehensive understanding of a disease and treatment paradigm through primary and secondary research and examine patient insights on current treatment & perspectives on target product profiles.
  • You will drive the publication of your work in support of your HEOR strategy and the cross-functional publication plan, and develop and maintain relevant partnerships with clinical centers, payers, academic research institutions, contract research organizations and other HEOR thought-leaders in order to optimize the impact of HEOR research.
  • Finally, yet importantly, you will support the implementation in key markets, in line with the overall Corporate TA strategy, regional market access and (Regional) Operating Units (ROPUs).
 
Additional responsibilities as Senior Manager:
  • You will define long-term global development strategies for the assets and across indications, in close collaboration with the global Marketing and global Medical counterparts, to ensure optimal patient access.
  • In addition, you will draft long-term publication strategies, taking into account the long-term global market development.
 

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant scientific discipline plus graduate degree (Masters/MD/PhD) in health economics or closely related discipline desirable
  • Several years of hands-on strategic experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in academia or in consulting and a positive track record for successful development and execution of HEOR strategy
  • Ability to inform strategic decisions regarding the required content of a clinical development program to achieve optimal market access, thorough understanding of study designs that provide most relevant evidence to payers 
  • Understanding of health care and reimbursement systems worldwide with special focus on HTA countries; knowledge of the market access environment in major markets (i.e. EU5, US, Japan) desirable
  • Understanding of the principles of health economics/outcomes research and their application to pharma market access; strong methodological skills in area of patient-reported outcomes (experience in Oncology desirable)
  • Demonstrated leadership in the understanding of customer requirements and the development of customized payer-targeted value communication materials/tools, planned and implemented innovative payer approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for successful teamwork, as well as the ability to work in cross-functional and international teams; ability to lead cross-functional projects
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
 
Additional requirements for the senior role:
  • Long-term pharma industry experience, with positions in the areas of health economics, pricing & reimbursement, consulting, or payer authorities
  • Strong track record in value generation, demonstration and/or communication
  • Highly experienced in conducting health economics/outcomes research across multiple specialty disciplines (e.g. patient reported outcomes, health economic modelling, real world data generation)
