(Senior) Brand Manager for Animal Health Global Brands
The Position
Based in Ingelheim, you will shape strategic marketing initiatives for key OTC brand(s) within Global Marketing Pets and drive long-term category growth in priority markets. In this (senior) role, you will translate deep customer understanding into winning portfolio strategies and differentiated brand positioning. Working in a highly international set-up, you will influence how our brands compete, expand, and deliver sustainable value.
Tasks & responsibilities
- In this role, you will support strategic marketing initiatives for individual brand(s), including long-term category strategy development for a portfolio to support success in strategic markets based on deep customer understanding.
- With a strong strategic focus, you will drive the Brand Plan and strategy deployment, including strategic pricing guidance, category focus, geo expansion, and clear prioritization.
- Working closely with the Franchise Head/Senior Brand Manager, you will support the development of marketing campaigns for brand(s) across veterinary and/or non-veterinary channels, resulting in channel-specific portfolio campaigns.
- In close collaboration with GCB, you will support the Franchise Head in governing brand strategy execution, including KPI definition and brand equity tracking in strategic countries.
- As part of the portfolio team, you will contribute to defining life cycle management for current brands and future projects, including review of pipeline and BD&L initiatives.
- To enable successful execution, you will help define key strategic initiatives to achieve product targets, including must-win priorities.
- Additionally, you will drive digital transformation in marketing and promotion for brands and collaborate across the franchise and the wider pet business.
- Furthermore, you will support the development of brand guidance and brand positioning, ensuring that new and existing brands fit coherently into the portfolio and managing related changes (e.g. packaging, positioning, LCM).
Additional tasks for Senior Brand Manager role:
- Additionally, you will tailor brand strategies and strategic initiatives for (R)OPU archetypes, with a strong focus on strategic countries.
- Furthermore, you will define life cycle management for current brands and future projects, including review of pipeline and BD&L opportunities within the category.
- At the same time, you will lead the development of marketing campaigns across all relevant channels, with a strong emphasis on digital transformation.
- Beyond this, you will develop brand guidance and positioning, ensuring alignment of new and existing brands within the portfolio and steering changes such as packaging, positioning, and LCM.
- Finally, you will support the Franchise Head in overall franchise strategy development while being accountable for the brand/project budget and adherence.
Requirements
- University degree required; Master degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) highly desirable
- Highly specialized knowledge and work experience in different parts of business, including Marketing roles in local & regional roles. Sales role experience is desirable.
- Requires strong understanding of business operations across regional/local levels and different geographic specificities, portfolio specifics.
- Strong strategic marketing and analytical capabilities
- Fluent command of English
Additional requirements for Senior Brand Manager role:
- Long-term brand management experience; exposure to local and operational strategic marketing
- Proven project leadership and project management experience; budget and resource oversight
- Deep understanding of regional and local business operations, geographic specificities, and portfolio dynamics
- Strong stakeholder management skills; ability to influence and gain buy-in in a cross-cultural, matrixed environment
- Excellent strategic marketing mindset combined with strong analytical capabilities
- High agility; ability to evolve strategic and tactical approaches based on research data and industry trends
