Job Title: Senior Manager Business Process Excellence

Location: 6701 Kaiser Drive, Fremont, CA 94555 (Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from this office 60% of the time)

 

Job Duties: Work with Site leadership to identify critical areas where there is a business need to execute continuous improvement projects. Create a business case for the change proposed and validate the need through data analysis. Determine the appropriate metrics to apply to initiatives and projects (e.g., productivity, cost savings, number of projects underway, deviations). Develop, implement, update, and maintain strategy and methodology for business process excellence/continuous improvement including Execution and Improvement Methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean). Lead structured problem solving efforts and provide a robust process to problem solving and Business Process Excellence (BPE) projects (e.g., Diagnosis, Design, Implementation and Sustainability analysis phases). Accountable for communicating obstacles and challenges encountered at all stages of a BPE initiative as well as identifying opportunities for acceleration. Network with other BPE teams in the network to identify and implement best practices and harmonize the BPE approach globally. *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from Boehringer Ingelheim Fremont, Inc.’s office in Fremont, CA 60% of the time.

 

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (8:00am to 5:00pm)

Job Requirements: Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business, Engineering, Science, Information Systems or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role OR Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business, Engineering, Science, Information Systems or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with: performing project, program, or portfolio management tasks to manage Lean Six Sigma projects, including planning, executing, and monitoring progress to ensure objectives are met; using statistical methods and tools, including Minitab, R, or Python, to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions; analyzing complex problems, identifying patterns, and developing innovative solutions; and, applying understanding of and analyzing the interconnections within business processes and how changes impact the overall system through systems thinking. Must have one (1) year of experience with managing organizational change to ensure successful implementation of process improvements through change management. Must have experience with: lean process development and implementation of simplified business processes using lean and six sigma tools, including DMAIC problem solving, fishbone diagrams, Kanban work management, pareto analysis, statistical process control, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, and value stream mapping; and, data science for operations, including using metrics and informative visualizations generated by data visualization tools, including Tableau or Power BI, to communicate findings effectively to drive operational insights for data-driven decision-making.

 

Salary: $124,509 to $181,000 per year
