Internship: Automation Team
THE INTERNSHIP
We are looking for an Intern to join our Automation team, which manages Siemens PCS7 DCS systems based on a virtualized infrastructure supporting production plants.
During the internship, you will work alongside senior technicians and engineers, gaining hands-on experience in the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automation systems and OT (Operational Technology) platforms within a structured industrial environment.
Tasks & what you will be learning:
- Support the management and operation of Siemens PCS7 automation systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot industrial networks.
- Assist with backup, patching, and system updates.
- Gain exposure to virtualized infrastructures (VMware / Hyper‑V).
- Analyze process data to support operational efficiency.
- Contribute to digitalization and OT cybersecurity projects.
- Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (or currently enrolled) in Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of industrial automation systems (PLC / DCS).
- Basic understanding of industrial networking.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
- Languages: Fluent Italian and scholastic knowledge of English (level B2).
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Siemens PCS7 and/or TIA Portal.
- Exposure to virtualization technologies.
- Basic understanding of OT cybersecurity principles.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems or SQL databases.
