EHS & OHS Processes Manager
THE POSITION
The candidate will oversee the coordination, integration and governance of OHS and EHS processes within the organization. Based at our Fornovo San Giovanni site, the role reports to the EHS Manager.
The candidate will drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the EHS/OHS Management System, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation (including Legislative Decree 81/2008) and internal standards, while fostering a proactive safety culture.
Where relevant, the candidate will also support the integration of Seveso III requirements (Legislative Decree 105/2015) into site EHS processes.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain the OHS and EHS Management Systems in compliance with applicable legislation and internal standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001), ensuring alignment with the requirements of Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008.
- Ensure the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of EHS processes, procedures and work instructions, ensuring traceability, document control and operational applicability.
- Support hazard identification, risk assessment and the definition of prevention and protection measures in collaboration with stakeholders (Employer/Managers/Supervisors, RSPP/ASPP, Occupational Physician, maintenance, production, HR).
- Coordinate EHS Change Control processes, ensuring proper assessment of health and safety impacts (Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008) and, where applicable, consistency with Seveso requirements (Legislative Decree 105/2015) and with the Major Accident Prevention Safety Management System (SGS-PIR).
- For sites subject to Seveso legislation (Legislative Decree 105/2015), support the implementation of specific requirements: integration into the management system, oversight of prevention/mitigation measures, support to the preparation/update of the Internal Emergency Plan (PEI) and management of evidence required by competent Authorities.
- Coordinate the management of incidents, near misses and non-conformities, ensuring root cause analysis and the definition/implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support and coordinate internal/external audits and inspections by Authorities/Certification Bodies, ensuring timely closure of findings and robustness of action plans.
- Coordinate the management of work permits, safety procedures and operational controls related to OHS activities (including non-routine work, contractors, activities in specific risk areas), verifying their application and adequacy.
- Coordinate the definition and implementation of EHS/OHS training, information and awareness programs for employees and contractors, in line with the requirements of Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008 (training, information, practical instruction and traceability).
- Promote a strong safety culture through communication, engagement initiatives and continuous improvement programs (e.g., campaigns, safety observations, proactive reporting).
- Coordinate, lead and develop the OHS team, ensuring clear role definition, workload priorities and competence development. Ensure continuity of critical EHS/OHS competences through training, coaching and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of OHS/EHS legislation and management systems (Italian Legislative Decree 81/2008, applicable technical standards and internal requirements; ISO 45001/14001).
- Proven experience in coordinating EHS/OHS processes and implementing/managing systems and procedures.
- Experience in managing audits, risk assessments, incidents/near misses and continuous improvement actions.
- Where applicable, knowledge of Seveso requirements (Legislative Decree 105/2015) and major accident prevention principles (MAPP, SGS-PIR, PEI, evidence and interface with Authorities).
