The role of the incumbent is responsible for ensuring BIAH USA has availability of the right product at the right quantity at the right time. Responsible for leading the Sales & Operations Planning process for the US AH business, connecting Global Supply, Finance, and Marketing & Sales into an optimized execution of the US Commercial Supply Chain strategy. Responsible for ensuring optimal availability of 150 to 200 stock keeping units totaling $150 million to $1.1 billion in net sales as well as for minimizing backorders, freight costs, and physical destructions. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Drive organizational consensus on supply and demand strategy through monthly Sales & Operations Planning process for Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance leadership:

  • Provide performance updates, inventory coverage, inventory at risk, IBP, financial reconciliation, and product launches and discontinuations
  • Escalate key issues and have influence on/drive the decision making process
  • Lead the liaison with Global Supply Chain

Lead Demand Reviews for Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance:

  • Educate and influence Brand Directors and Brand Managers on best forecasting practices to optimize service level while minimizing destructions and obsolescence risks
  • Drive the review of species's forecast performance and engage with species leadership to ensure improvement
  • Validate plausibility of new demand plan as it relates to past performance and future marketing plans, and challenge Marketing where necessary
  • Drive multi-function team performance for forecast completeness (36 months)
  • Identify and drive to mitigate constraints in supply, inbound transportation, warehousing, and QC checks

Lead evaluation of inventory risks and opportunities for Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance:

  • Identify potential surpluses/short-dated product and drive decisions to mitigate risks (discounting, promotions, free goods, etc.)
  • Identify potential backorder and drive mitigation plans to minimize impact to Net Sales
  • Advocate for the US Commercial Business with Global Supply Chain and sources of supply
  • Drive scenario planning with multi-function teams to provide overview of potential bid opportunities, asses probability of success, provide final opinion, and reflect in demand plan
  • Review and forecast potential Destructions & Reserves and determine impact to Income Statement 

Lead Financial Reconciliation for Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance:

  • Challenge and determine plausibility of financial forecast (Budget, Outlook, Outlook+1) compared to Demand Forecast
  • Address and mitigate gaps in financial reconciliation, and make sales and expense recommendations for Watch-list
  • Act as Product Life-Cycle Manager (PLM). Pro actively manage and coordinate the SKU lifecycle from launch, change to withdrawal across all involved stakeholders (local/regional/global functions like Finance, Regulatory, Marketing), processes and systems (e.g. Product Readiness,Terminator, SLCI light).
  • Plan and coordinate highly complex launch and change activities for multi-country presentations in close alignment with the Global PSM team and other relevant functions (e.g.demand MGT, other PLMs) to ensure timely implementation.
  • Drive and manage cross-functional alignment and decision-making in the (R)OPU S&OP product review across all clusters/OPUs, respectively local supply review.

 

Requirements

  • BA or BS Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Production Engineering, Masters Degree strongly preferred, 8-10 years of relevant experience in demand planning, supply planning and/or master scheduling experience in manufacturing and commercial business or similar experience and environment
  • Sales and Operations (S&OP) lead experience
  • APICS certification desired (CSCP and/or CPIM)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, connecting complex datasets from multiple systems into clear summary for decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate and build relationships at all levels, and to link Supply/Finance business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects across multiple business functions (product launches, product substitution)
  • Proficiency in critical systems to manage the product flows along the supply chain (JDA, GRP, BIX@, SAP or similar systems)


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Desired Skills, Experience and Abilities

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead local Product Review and Life Cycle Management:

  • Identify local launch and change overview and tracking of relevant activities
  • Ensure availability of proper master data in all applicable planning systems (JDA, GRP, GBS)
  • Track SKU launches through entire launch process
  • Track SKU discontinuations and ensure applicable systems reflect discontinuation

Lead annual local Product Portfolio Optimization (PPO) process:

  • Identify low volume and margin SKUs as potential candidates for rationalization
  • Drive discussion with Marketing Directors and Finance Associate Directors to determine proper SKUs for rationalization
  • Ensure systems updated to reflect draw down of inventory and eventually termination

Act as Forecasting Power User (FPU). Monitor the Monthly Forecast Review Process at BOPU level:

  • Lead the monthly root cause analysis with Brand/Product Managers
  •  Share with the local teams the list of SKUs based on the performance analysis and on the product segmentation to take actions in order to ensure continuous improvement
  • Challenge Manual Forecast and inputs/adjustments to statistical forecast
  • Ensure manual baseline forecast update based on exceptions analysis
  • Collaborate on statistical forecast review
  • Challenge key assumptions behind the numbers made by Brand Managers/Demand Planners when appropriate, recommend solutions.
    Review market assumptions and supply impacts provided by brand managers & demand planners and ensure correct recording in forecasting system (JDA):
  • Monitor the fcst review process from Day 1 to Publish (Day 15)
  • Consolidate Forecast / Supply inputs
  • Identify, challenge and explain gaps vs financial targets.
  • Provide KPIs analysis
  • Report and escalate to Region/Global levels on forecast review status and related issues
