Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative individual for a Data Governance Co-op to join our Data Management department located at our Animal Health Headquarters in Johns Creek, GA. In this position you will leverage your interest and passion for data to further develop your skills and understanding in data governance.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Support data governance activities including cataloging data assets, maintaining metadata, and documenting data lineage across systems.
- Assist with data quality validation, including running checks, identifying inconsistencies, and partnering with DDO/Product Manager to resolve issues.
- Participate in privacy compliance activities, such as reviewing datasets for existence of personal data, reviewing applicable retention rules, and helping ensure alignment with internal policies.
- Help maintain the Enterprise Data Governance Catalog by updating definitions and business rules, indicating assets privacy classification and ensuring accuracy and completeness of the information cataloged.
- Support enhancement of Enterprise Data Governance Catalog, through submitting requirements and completing user acceptance testing.
- Support routine audits of data assets to confirm adherence to data governance standards, privacy regulations, and security guidelines.
- Assist in monitoring data access to verify appropriate usage and ensure permissions align with job roles and privacy requirements.
- Help develop and refine documentation, including governance frameworks, SOPs, and data standards.
- Assist with issue tracking, including logging and monitoring data governance or privacy‑related findings and helping coordinate resolutions.
Requirements

- Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing.
- Student must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for the duration of the internship/co-op.
- Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred.
- Major or minor in related field of Operations Management, Data governance, Data Management, Management Information Systems
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university.
- Graduate and advanced degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university.
Eligibility Requirements:- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
