The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic professional to join Boehringer Ingelheim as the Regional Lead of Security & Crisis Management IMETA, based at Dubai. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our people, assets, and operations across the IMETA (India, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa) region. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of global security strategies, manage regional security programs, and provide expert guidance to mitigate risks and respond to crises. This is a critical leadership position requiring a proactive, innovative, and collaborative approach to security and crisis management in a complex and diverse environment.
This role reports to the Head of GFE IMETA.

Role & Responsibilities

•    Regional Security Leadership:
o    Oversee the end-to-end security framework for the IMETA region, including site security, supply chain security, information protection, travel and expatriate security, and event security.
o    Provide strategic guidance to regional and global decision-makers, aligning security goals with organizational priorities.
•    Implementation of Global Security Strategies:
o    Adapt and deploy global security strategies, standards, and programs within the region.
o    Lead the development of regional security initiatives and ensure their successful local execution.
•    Risk Management & Crisis Response:
o    Conduct ongoing risk assessments, ensuring situational awareness and proactive mitigation measures.
o    Respond effectively to security incidents and crises, maintaining business continuity and safeguarding personnel and assets.
•    Team Leadership & Development:
o    Manage and develop a high-performing regional security organization, ensuring Local Security Managers and Coordinators are skilled and trained.
o    Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in security practices.
•    Stakeholder Collaboration:
o    Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (HR, Legal, Supply Chain, IT, etc.) and external entities (governmental bodies, law enforcement, security associations).
o    Serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership and global security teams.
•    Budget Management:
o    Plan and manage security-related budgets, including operational, capital, and crisis-specific expenditures.

Requirements

o    Master’s degree in Security, Risk, or Crisis Management (or similar field); certifications in these areas are preferred.
o    Minimum 5 years of experience as a security manager with a proven track record in security leadership.
o    Business fluent in English is a must
o    Business fluent in Arabic & French is desirable
o    Ability to foresee and mitigate risks, manage crises, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
o    Expertise in geopolitical, regional, and local security factors, with the ability to apply this knowledge to planning and decision-making.
o    Proficiency in audit, compliance, and advanced technical security understanding.
o    Collaborative work ethic with intercultural competence across diverse regions.
o    Professional certification in Security Management is desirable.
o    Willingness to travel extensively and respond flexibly to urgent requirements.
o    FACT24 knowledge is a plus
