Vice President of Animal Health (Canada)
The Position
- Responsible for the development, alignment, and execution of the Canadian Animal Health strategy.
- Achievement of the Animal Health business objectives by managing performance and development of the Animal Health Canadian business across all species and in alignment with respective functions (e.g. Global Innovation, Global Supply and Group Functions).
- Overall P&L accountability for the business, business performance, governance, and compliance with local legislative requirements and the Boehringer Ingelheim operational framework.
- Direct Boehringer Ingelheim towards a highly effective marketing driven organization.
Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Lead, coordinate, integrate and manage teams and resources (people, financial or assets) - identify and develop teams and resources to meet Animal Health strategies and strategic direction, standards, and requirements.
- Ensure alignment with Corporate/Regional strategy, priorities, and targets.
- Ensure synergies within the region are optimally used, best practices are shared, and duplication is minimized. Ensure flawless execution through a focused, lean, and agile organization.
- Translate the Global Animal Health Strategy into a Canadian Animal Health Strategy.
- Align the Canadian Animal Health Strategy with other businesses/functions
- Implementation of the Canadian Animal Health Strategy across the area of responsibility
- Ensure implementation of Boehringer Ingelheim’s corporate policies and respect Boehringer Ingelheim's and local compliance standards
- Deliver the Business Objectives (Net Sales and Profitability)
- Responsible for the P&L of the Canadian Animal Health business
- Ensure the expected market performance
Launch readiness/Product launches:
- Set up and execute launch plans.
Talent Management
- Lead, coach, and develop cross functional team members to ensure optimal individual/team performance
- Develop talent with cross country/global mindset by collaborating with other Country Heads – talent and vacancies exchange
Project management
- Accountable for the plan, execution, and results of assigned projects
Communication & Network
- Establish and manage key customer, business, and political relationships within the country to the mutual benefit of the business and local community
- Responsible for an efficient information transfer and communication with relevant internal stakeholders of the corporation
This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible.
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.
Requirements
- Master's degree (e.g. MBA, MSc) in Business Administration is preferred
- Extensive commercial leadership experience
- Animal Health or Human Pharma or FMCG or Finance background.
- Experience in Animal Health and/or other complex multi-business segment industry
- Experience in P&L Management
- Operational Experience as a Leader of a large business Unit
- Marketing experience with a track record of successful launches of global brands locally or globally.
- Transformation experience (e.g. post-merger globally or within a country)
- Integration experience within a larger acquisition local and global
