Medical Education Content Manager
The Position
The Medical Education Content Manager reports into the Medical Affairs Education and Operations Manager and provides insight and strategic guidance to establish strong Continuing Medical Education programming in the assigned therapeutic area(s). The Medical Education Content Manager is a core brand team member in the assigned therapeutic area(s) and leads the development and execution of national and regional medical educational strategies and tactics. The Content Manager will be customer-centric and utilize insight-driven decision making and bring this mindset to Medical Education offerings.
Responsibilities
Program Development
- Responsible for program development and accreditation in the assigned therapeutic area(s).
- Develop multi-channel, medical education campaigns based on customer engagement preferences, healthcare landscape & HCP insights.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Integrated Customer Plans (ICP) and Campaigns are implemented effectively.
- Understand and assess Corporate/Global medical education offerings for potential application in Canada.
- Develop and assess program metrics to inform and shape future learning activities.
Planning
- Active contributor on the cross-functional brand team in the assigned therapeutic area(s) including input into the Integrated Business Plans (IBPs) and Integrated Customer Plans (ICPs); ensuring they are based on a strong understanding of HCP drivers, engagement preferences and unmet learning needs.
- Strategically identify opportunities and key knowledge gaps and barriers to achieving educational objectives that support ongoing HCPs learning needs.
Identify unique learning needs of different customer segments and and create educational programming that meets business and customer needs in the assigned therapeutic area(s) using digital and traditional methods. - Responsibility for the Medical Education budget in the assigned therapeutic area(s).
Communication
- Collect, analyze and synthesize medical education information, data, insights, metrics and competitive information and share with relevant internal & external customers in the assigned therapeutic area(s).
- Consult and provide Continuing Health Education expertise to the Medical and Commercial field teams.
Stakeholder Development
- Contribute to expert mapping and engagement plans in the assigned therapeutic area(s).
- Establish and maintain relationships with key education stakeholders such as medicalassociations,accrediting bodies,physician organizations and academic and community experts.
This position is fully remote.
Employees in remote roles can live anywhere in Canada and are only required to visit the Burlington office a few times each year.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Health Sciences or related discipline
- Completion of CCPE Continuing Health Education certification
- 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in medical, training and/or sales/marketing.
- Experience in national/provincial CHE (Continuous Health Education) program development and accreditation.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with External Experts to gain insights and translate to learning content of programming.
- Experience in creating traditional and digital educational offerings.
- Proven skills in the following areas: strategic thinking, strong organizational skills, project management and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, negotiation, written and verbal communication, budgeting and uncovering customer needs.
- Knowledgeable about Adult Learning Principles, CHE, PAAB and Innovative Medicines Canada and Health Canada guidelines
- Understanding of compliance, legal, regulatory, and medical functions
- Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation process of programs in the Canadian market
- Proficient in Veeva, Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
- French and English language skills are required for the purpose of working cross-functionally with Boehringer colleagues across Canada and in some cases with colleagues situated globally.
