Marketing Manager, Animal Health Pet (13-month contract)
The Position
- The Marketing Manager is responsible for the leadership, strategic marketing direction, and performance of a marketing team, including Brand Managers and Species Coordinator, and their respective portfolio of brands. The Marketing Manager is responsible for ensuring that all marketing resources are utilized to achieve maximum impact in order to exceed sales, profitability, market share, customer satisfaction and financial performance measures for the assigned portfolio, while meeting all compliance obligations. The Marketing Manager will also be directly responsible all marketing strategies, initiatives and execution of tactics for a key strategic brand.
- The Marketing Manager will work in close collaboration with members of the marketing team, as well as Sales Management, Technical Services, Business Unit Director and others to ensure alignment and execution of approved marketing plans.

Responsibilities
- Achieve/surpass Net Sales and CCIIIA targets through directing the creation and management of all Pet marketing plans, forecasting, meeting inventory/supply KPI targets, promotional expenditures, and pricing and rebate strategies.
- For the assigned strategic brand, directly manage and execute all above marketing components for that brand.
- Provides leadership, direction, coaching, training, and change management to direct reports through effective utilization of the MAG process, ongoing routine individual sessions and team sessions.
- Ensures the development of Our Behavrios at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.
- Develops the overall marketing strategy for the assigned portfolio in support of global marketing strategy.
- Directs the creation of brand plans in support of global brand plans, while optimizing for the local market.
- Ensures collaboration with Brand Managers, Sales Managers, Technical Services Team and other team members during development of the above.
- Directs the allocation of promotional spends and rebate program creation to ensure optimal effectiveness; ensures resource spend within budget on a brand and portfolio basis, and that portfolio financial objectives are met.
- Leads and directs the creation of brand and portfolio-level marketing budgets (net sales, direct promotion, free goods etc) as part of the Annual Discussion/Expectation /Outlook budgeting process; works closely with Brand Managers and Business Unit Director to ensure alignment.
- Monitors and reports on performance on an ongoing basis.
- Engages in cross-functional activities to promote alignment nationally, including providing marketing input into Key Account plans, pricing contract development, and initiatives where multi-brand support is required.
- Performs all Boehringer Ingelheim business in accordance with all regulations and Boehringer Ingelheim Canada compliance guidelines and procedures.
- When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management.
- Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contracts in order to maintain Boehringer Ingelheim Canada’s excellent reputation within the industry.
This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible.
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.
Requirements
- University Degree
- Minimum of 3 years in industry sales (preferred).

The salary range for this position is from $138,150 to $184,230. Performance, relevant experience and competency in the role will be a key factor in driving the compensation offered.
