Head of Quality Medicine
The Position
We are seeking a strategic and forward-looking Head of Quality Medicine to lead the Medicine Quality function in Canada.

The Head of Quality Medicine will help shape the future of quality in Canada by combining regulatory excellence with leadership, innovation, and intelligent risk-taking. The successful candidate will strengthen an environment in which quality is owned across the organisation, learning leads to improvement, and proportionate quality approaches enable better outcomes for patients and the business.
This role is critical in ensuring that quality enables, rather than slows, innovation. Through modern quality management, intelligent risk-based decision making, and strong cross-functional leadership, the successful candidate will help accelerate patient access to innovative medicines while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously evolve the Canadian Medicine QMS in alignment with the global Medicine QMS.
- Drive a risk-intelligent, data-driven approach to quality and compliance, identifying strategic risks and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Promote innovation, simplification, and modernisation of quality processes, systems, and oversight approaches.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Medicine team, ensuring the right capabilities, resources, and succession plans are in place.
- Foster a quality culture built on openness, speaking up, learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a trusted quality partner to local and global leaders, strengthening collaboration across functions and geographies.
- Lead inspection readiness, regulatory inspections, quality reviews, and organisational learning.
- Represent the organisation within relevant industry associations and external forums to bring innovative practices and insights into the business.
This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible. Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.
Requirements
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline such as Pharmacology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Expert in ICH GCP and/or ICH GVP and applicable regulations, with 10+ years of experience in either clinical trial management and clinical development processes or pharmacovigilance and pharmacovigilance processes.
- People leadership experience, including coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or leading Quality Management Systems.
- Significant experience leading regulatory inspections and interacting with Health Authorities.
- Proven success leading and developing teams within a complex matrix organisation.
- Strong understanding of Quality by Design, risk management, and modern quality approaches, including familiarity with ICH E6(R3) and risk-proportionate quality management principles.

The salary range for this position is from $161,220 to $211,220. Performance, relevant experience and competency in the role will be a key factor in driving the compensation offered. In addition, this position is eligible for a variable bonus target opportunity of 20% of the annual base salary.
