Senior Systems Engineer (IT GFS Legal)
The Position
The IT Senior Systems Engineer – IT GFS Legal, is located in Argentina and operates with autonomy in performing digital forensic and eDiscovery tasks, ensuring legally defensible preservation and analysis across global systems. They serve as a technical specialist, contributing to improvements in tooling, automation, SOPs and architecture.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Provide SME guidance for cross-functional investigations and eDiscovery support. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, GBS, HR, IT Security and others to understand business requirements and to support with scoping of activities (e.g. data collections).
- Complete early data assessments and provide clear recommendations to Legal on feasibility, scope, risks, and potential data gaps. Support legal hold processes, confirming system-side preservation status.
- Participate in project tasks, such as tool evaluations or system testing.
- Perform custodial and noncustodial data collections across endpoints, cloud storage, M365 workloads, network shares and other data sources. Perform quality checks and prepare handoffs for internal partners or external vendors.
- Conduct data processing and forensic analysis, delivering clear and comprehensive forensic reports to support fact finding. Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and security requirements during evidence collection, handling and transfer including strict maintenance of chain of custody and other forensic requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues; escalate delays promptly to senior team members. Identify workflow inefficiencies, propose process or tooling enhancements and leverage automation opportunities. Contribute to the development and updating of SOPs, templates and standards.
Requirements
Required
- Digital Forensics and/or eDiscovery experience.
- Experience in performing data collections, processing and analysis in context of internal investigations and litigations. Strong understanding of EDRM, ISO 27037 and other related standards.
- Proficiency in forensic tools such as Cellebrite, UFED & Physical Analyzer, OpenText, Encase, Exterro, FTK Imager, Volatility, Magnet Axiom and similar tools. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture: servers, networks, storage, cloud. Hands-on experience with M365 Purview, and cloud-native collection and analysis workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to articulate complex technical findings to nontechnical audiences.
- Understanding maintaining and driving workflow automation using python, Git-based version control, and standard development tools (e.g. VS code).
- Ability to communicate in written / spoken in English.
