Head of IT INF Software Operations
The Position
From Buenos Aires, Argentina, you will lead the strategy and global operation of Software Operations, ensuring that thousands of users worldwide have access to secure, modern, and reliable applications whenever they need them. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of Software Packaging through a highly automated, software-defined approach, driving efficiency, standardization, and innovation across a global technology landscape. Tasks and responsibilities
- Contribute to improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of IT processes by applying adequate strategies, IT methods and technologies.
- Responsible for leading and managing all program/project management activities at all projects in scope and in compliance with all PMO guidelines.
- Responsible for the provisioning and continuous improvement of the service portfolio, life cycle management and unit cost of Infrastructure and the delivery of these services according to defined global SLAs. Understand how the INF Services are used by the Business, and promote the best usage / adoption of all INF solutions.
- Specifically responsible for:
- Operational excellence of all Software Operations services delivered out of this function.
- Software ownership for commodity applications and software packaging across platforms — traditional PC software and mobile apps today, potentially extending to Mac in the future.
- Lean and efficient software packaging, driven by a strong software-defined mindset and a high degree of automation.
- Teaming with other functions across the software domain at Boehringer Ingelheim to leverage synergies and create user-centric processes and deliverables, with a strong focus on user experience across all lifecycle phases.
- Software/system plan and build — i.e. design, architecture, project lead, implementation and qualification.
- Software/system operation — run, rollout, system lead, support (2nd/3rd level ticket handling), optimization and innovation.
Requirements
- Leader with large IT and business experience.
- At least 2-5 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- Must be a strategic thinker and motivator, and understands what delivers true value and operational excellence to the business.
- Leadership skills, strong customer focus, vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Must have an excellent understanding of building and operating IT systems and services as well as designing highly user-centric solutions to drive business value.
- Must be highly creative, curious and a strong networker.
- Must have a track record in running environments in different cultures.
- Dealing with ambiguity. Dealing with sourcing/shoring scenarios.
- Knowledge in the areas of software-defined, software engineering fundamentals, data, data insights, AI, process automation, DevOps, software packaging and software operations.
