Compliance Senior Internal Investigator

The Position

Contribute to a culture of integrity and psychological safety by investigating concerns that impact the employee experience and workplace behavior. Global Legal & Compliance envisions to build up shared service capabilities for certain Legal & Compliance services. A strong focus of such shared services will be on planning and conducting internal investigations on potential misconduct regarding a number of defined Compliance areas as well as potential violations of the general level of ethical behavior as defined in Boehringer Ingelheim's Code of Conduct.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

Lead and support internal investigations with a strong focus on cases that typically involve matters related to adherence to laws, regulations, and company policies like:

 

  • Frequent types of Compliance and Investigation allegations, e.g: Conflicts of Interest and Data Privacy breaches including but not limited to workplace misconduct, and violations of the Code of Conduct.
  • This role will conduct routine and complex in-depth end-to-end investigations of confidential and sensitive nature on potential violations, conduct analysis, prepare investigative reports and recommend CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions), when applicable.
  • Responsible for working with the Global Investigations Office and Corporate Functions to lead and conduct internal investigations and address compliance concerns across all business segments.
  • In addition to the ongoing investigation service and advice to any investigation resource, the purpose of the role is to constantly improve and enhance the methodology of internal investigation. 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, HR, Business Administration or Psychology.
  • Proven experience in handling sensitive Compliance investigations (e.g. conflicts of interest, data privacy breach).
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (advanced level).
  • Expertise in Interview and documentation skills.
  • Experience in collaborate closely with the Compliance teams to ensure thorough and fair resolution of business-related concerns.
  • Strong communications abilities.
  • Experience in multinational company with cross cultural environment (desirable).
