THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Technical Manager, Swine to strengthen our technical expertise and support the continued growth of our swine business in Belgium.
In this field-based role, you will act as a trusted scientific partner for veterinarians, farmers, and key industry stakeholders. You will provide high-quality technical support, translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions, and contribute to the success of our swine portfolio through education, collaboration, and customer engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who enjoys combining scientific knowledge with stakeholder engagement and business impact.
You will report to the Business Unit Head of Livestock. This is a field-based position, majority of your time will be spent in the field. Ideally candidates should be based in Flanders, Belgium or be willing to travel regularly across the region to visit farms, veterinarians, and other key stakeholders.
HOW YOU’LL FIT IN
- Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinarians, farmers, opinion leaders, and industry experts within the swine sector.
- Provide scientific and technical support to customers and internal teams.
- Deliver technical trainings, presentations, workshops, and field visits.
- Support the sales team with technical expertise and customer-focused solutions.
- Contribute to the development and review of technical and promotional materials.
- Monitor industry trends, disease developments, and emerging scientific insights relevant to swine health.
- Represent Boehringer Ingelheim at congresses, conferences, and professional events.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support the investigation and reporting of adverse events and product-related inquiries.
YOU BRING
- Master’s degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a veterinarian practitioner in the swine field.
- In-depth knowledge of swine health, production systems, and infectious disease management.
- Customer‑focused mindset with strong technical credibility.
- Experience working with diagnostic laboratories and providing diagnostic support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent command of Dutch and English languages. French is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to translate scientific knowledge into practical, business‑relevant insights.
- Collaborative and approachable personality. You work cross-functionally, bring empathy and curiosity, and contribute to a positive team culture.
