THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you ready to lead a passionate sales team and shape the future of pet retail in Belgium? As our new Sales Manager Pets Retail, you’ll drive commercial success and customer centricity across our Companion Animals business (in pharmacies). You’ll take ownership of a high-impact role that directly influences strategy, team performance, and customer experience. This is your chance to grow as a leader, collaborate across disciplines, and make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners.

At Boehringer Ingelheim, we empower you to develop your own path, offering the autonomy, support, and resources to shape your career in a purpose-driven environment. You’ll be part of a diverse and caring group that values innovation, wellbeing, and impact.

Together, we’re changing lives—for animals, their owners, and the communities we serve.

You’ll be based in Belgium at our Brussel office, and report directly to the BU Head Companion Animals.

Please note, only applications in English will be considered. Submit your application before December 2nd. We review applications on a rolling basis and will close the vacancy as soon as we've found the right candidate, so don’t wait to apply!

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and distribution policies to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Organize impactful sales meetings and training sessions aligned with strategic goals.
  • Provide high-level business analysis and forecasting to support decision-making and resource alignment.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree.

  • At least 2 years of people management experience, ideally leading a team of 4 or more.
  • Fluent in English, Dutch and French.
  • Strong skills in Excel (advanced level), MS Office, and retail Category Management.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of exceeding goals and leading business projects.
  • Ability to travel (including overnight stays).

As a field-force employee in Belgium, you’ll benefit from:

  • Premium access to Headspace and a range of well-being initiatives.
  • A customized development plan with access to LinkedIn Learning and our Virtual Campus.
  • A flexible work schedule and a supportive, multicultural team environment.
