As our Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Cardio-Renal-Metabolism (CRM), you will establish and nurture collaborations with physicians and healthcare professionals across Belgium/Luxembourg.

Your role will focus on gathering valuable insights to inform strategy during the pre-launch, launch and post-launch phase, disseminating scientific information, and connecting with specialists in the cardio-renal metabolic space, incl. obesity and MASH.

You will be the face of Boehringer Ingelheim to high-level scientific professionals where you will engage in scientific discussions and idea exchange, where an ultimate goal is to ensure that the right patients are treated optimally with a focus on new scientific approaches.

The work location is Brussels. 80% of your role is field-based and will require some travelling. You will report directly to the local Medical Affairs Lead.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a Health Care Professionals (HCPs) scientific resource and go-to-person for scientific queries and in-depth scientific information related to medications and indications within your area of expertise.
  • Gather and communicate valuable insights from the field to support strategic direction in the pre-launch phase.
  • Discuss and meet the special needs of External Experts for in-depth and leading-edge information and product/indication knowledge through interaction with this group.
  • Support the medical and asset team by providing insights and feedback from the field.
  • Work in collaboration and alignment with the Medical Manager within the CRM area.
  • Map, develop and maintain network and interact with HCPs and authorities.
  • Identify need for registries, epidemiological studies, non-trial activities and other medical/scientific projects.
  • Support compassionate use applications, execution of risk management plans, and facilitation of disease management programs.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • PhD or master’s degree in Medicine/Pharmacology/Lifesciences.
  • Around 2 years of experience within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry are a plus.
  • Background or experience in Obesity or MASH disease is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Belgian health care system and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design and process.
  • Excellent command of the French & Dutch & English languages.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills to share scientific content and context to multiple audiences – both orally and in writing.
  • Quality mindset, striving for excellence with a pro-active result driven behavior.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills with a growth mindset, be open to and drive changes.
  • Ability to use a multitude of channels in the interaction with stakeholders.
  • Outgoing personality, team-player with good peer relationship skills.
  • You are open to digital transformation.
  • You have a valid driving license and are passionate about a field-based role.
