University Intern - Sales & Marketing Inflammation Franchise
Number of opportunities: 1
Salary: £26,000 (Not flexible)
Closing date: 26/10/2026
This is a 12-month paid internship starting September 2027. The role is head office based requiring a minimum of 2 days a week to be worked from our office in Winnersh.
INTRODUCING THE OPPORTUNITY
The Inflammation Franchise works to improve outcomes for people living with serious inflammatory diseases by bringing together marketing, sales and cross-functional expertise. This 12-month internship offers a balanced introduction to two core parts of a pharmaceutical business. You will spend time learning how patient, customer and market insights are translated into clear marketing plans and campaigns, while also supporting the day-to-day operation of a national field team. Working with the Marketing team, Head of Sales and field colleagues, you will contribute to live projects, build practical commercial skills and see how responsible, compliant collaboration helps healthcare professionals support appropriate patient care.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
Support the planning, development and delivery of customer-focused marketing campaigns, from initial insight and briefing through to implementation and review.
-
Own defined workstreams within the annual brand and sales plans, such as coordinating campaign materials, preparing team communications, tracking milestones and summarising results.
-
Work closely with Marketing colleagues, the Head of Sales, field-based teams and cross-functional partners such as Medical, Market Access, Finance, Compliance and external agencies.
-
Use Microsoft 365 tools, approved business systems, customer and market insights, dashboards and established review processes to organise work, analyse information and support high-quality execution.
-
Help the team deliver well-organised, compliant activities on time, improve visibility of field operations and generate practical insights that can strengthen future campaigns and customer engagement.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
You will gain a practical understanding of how pharmaceutical marketing plans are built, approved, delivered and evaluated, including how teams use customer and market insights to shape campaigns. You will also learn how a field sales team operates, including planning cycles, communications, performance reporting and customer-facing activity, with opportunities to accompany colleagues on appropriate customer visits. Across both areas, you will develop project management, stakeholder engagement, presentation, data interpretation and problem-solving skills, while learning how commercial teams work responsibly within the UK pharmaceutical environment.
