This is a 12-month paid internship starting September 2027. The role is head office based requiring a minimum of 2 days a week to be worked from our office in Winnersh.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  • Review and summarise clinical and scientific evidence, helping the team communicate complex information clearly and accurately for professional and non-specialist audiences. 
  • Support the planning and delivery of medical activities, including advisory boards, medical education meetings, congress activities and scientific communication projects. 
  • Contribute to evidence-generation and clinical research activities by providing support for clinical trial activities. 
  • Work with colleagues across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and other functions to support shared projects and understand how medicines are developed and used in practice. 
  • Help prepare accurate, balanced and compliant medical materials, presentations, meeting notes and internal updates, managing materials in the veeva vault environment.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

 

  • Currently studying for a degree in a Life Science, Pharmacy, Medicine or a closely related discipline and completing a placement year as part of the course. 
  • A minimum of three A levels at grades ABB, or equivalent, including at least one science subject. 
  • An interest in clinical science, medicines development and communicating scientific evidence accurately. 
  • The right to work in the UK for the full duration of the internship. 
  • The ability to travel independently to the usual place of work and, where required, to other sites. 

 

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Experience of literature searching, critical appraisal, scientific writing, presenting or analysing data through university study, employment or extracurricular projects. 
  • Awareness of the medicine-development process, clinical trials, the NHS or the role of Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry. 
  • Experience of coordinating a project or working with others to deliver an agreed outcome.
