University Intern - Animal Health Commercial Business - 2 Opportunities

These are 12-month paid internships starting September 2026. The roles are head officed based requiring a minimum of 2 days a week to be worked from our office in Winnersh.

 

Salary: £ 26,000 per annum

POSITIONS, TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1 x Commercial Excellence

 

The Animal Health Commercial Excellence department drives innovation and delivers the insights that power smarter business decisions. We're collaborative, commercially focused, and customer-centric, a trusted partner that helps the business excel. The internship will support across 3 teams within the department on a 4-month rotation for each (12 months in total) within Data & Platforms, SFE & Digital and Pricing

 

Data & Platforms

 

  • Partnering with commercial stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical data solutions and insights. The role involves developing dashboards and reports, managing data quality across platforms, supporting system migrations and maintaining tools like Veeva.
  • Play an educational role, building data literacy across the business and helping teams become more confident in using analytics.
  • Develop technical expertise in data management and platform configuration, whilst building commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.

 

SFE & Digital

 

  • Support Digital Excellence Manager in Global vet portal support, campaign management across multiple species and digital channels. SEO review of websites, monitor digital and omnichannel KPIs to understand and share performance.
  • Support Salesforce Effectiveness Training Manager in co-ordinating onboarding, learning & development initiatives. Opportunities to facilitate and co-create training workshops and conducting training needs analysis across the business.
  • Support Salesforce Effectiveness Manager in sales incentive plan design, implementation & review, sales target setting and SFE metrics for executional excellence
  • Support Project Manager in ongoing commercial excellence initiatives.

 

Pricing

 

  • Assist with modelling various pricing scenarios related to customers and products.
  • Maintain price lists whilst adhering to local governance requirements.

 

1 x Business Process & Analysis

 

To support across 2departments on a 6-month rotation for each (12 months in total) within Animal Health Commercial Business – Forecasting, Business Analysis and Regulatory Affairs/Pharmacovigilance

 

Forecasting & Business Analysis

 

  • Support implementation of forecasting & business analytics processes in line with strategies to enhance capabilities and greater accuracy

 

Regulatory Affairs

 

  • Support the Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance Team with maintenance of our veterinary medicinal product licences, including life cycle management activities and adverse event processing, to maintain compliance and help ensure the safety and efficacy of our animal health portfolio.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants will be studying for a Business, Digital Technology, Stats or related degree.
  • 3 A levels at grade ABB (minimum).
  • Applicants must have the ability for independent travel to work and other sites.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

KEY COMPENTENCIES

  • Strong verbal communication skills within a business environment, able to speak clearly and fluently, expressing opinions information, and key points of an argument with clarity and simplicity.
  • Strong written communication skills, able to write clearly, succinctly and correctly, writes convincingly in an engaging, structured and logical manner, avoiding unnecessary use of jargon or complicated language.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office essential with the ability to adapt knowledge to use Boehringer’s local systems/platforms/technology.
  • Sets clear objectives, plans activities well in advance, manages time effectively, identifying and organising resources needed to accomplish tasks, monitoring performance against deadlines.
  • Able to work as team member, establishing good working relationships, adapting to the team as required; also, able to work as an individual contributor with minimal supervision. Must be highly motivated and have the ability to deliver both within a team environment and independently.
  • Follows instructions from others without unnecessarily challenging authority. Follows procedures and policies, keeping to schedules but remains flexible to changing priorities.
