Territory Manager

THE POSITION

 

As a Territory Manager within the Pet team, the role is responsible for driving sales growth through strategic account management, business partnership and effective implementation of brand strategies across a defined customer base.

Success in the role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders while working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that address customer needs and create business value. The role combines commercial acumen with the ability to engage in both strategic business and clinical discussions with customers.

This is a field-based role covering a territory across North England, including Blackpool, Manchester, Leeds and York. Regular travel throughout the territory is required.

 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Achieve sales and activity targets through effective territory planning and customer segmentation

• Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinary practices, groups and key stakeholders to drive customer engagement and business growth

• Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with brand and operational strategies

• Identify new business opportunities through analysis of customer needs, market trends, competitor activities and available data sources

• Tailor sales approaches and customer journeys to maximise customer value and strengthen long-term partnerships

• Collaborate with Veterinary Advisers, Marketing, Key Accounts and other internal stakeholders to deliver customer-focused solutions

• Utilise digital tools, platforms and resources to enhance customer experience and support business objectives

• Maintain a strong understanding of product portfolios, disease areas and the wider animal health market

• Gather and share customer insights to support business planning and commercial decision-making

• Ensure all activities are conducted in line with company policies, industry regulations and relevant codes of practice

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Educated to degree level or equivalent; relevant commercial experience will also be considered

• Previous sales or account management experience, ideally within Animal Health, veterinary, pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors

• Strong commercial and business acumen

• Demonstrable account management and territory planning skills

• Strong influencing, communication and relationship-building abilities

• Experience using data and customer insights to identify opportunities and support decision-making

• Ability to develop long-term customer partnerships and deliver high-quality customer engagement

• Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills

• Adaptable, proactive and solution-oriented approach

• Digital proficiency, including CRM systems and virtual customer engagement platforms

• Sound understanding of the commercial and regulatory environment

• Full UK driving licence
