Senior Medical Advisor
THE POSITION
As a Senior Medical Advisor, you will be a senior medical and scientific leader within the UK Medical Affairs Sub Team (MAST), recognised as a trusted expert in your therapeutic area. You will shape medical strategy, lead high impact initiatives, and influence key business decisions across the product lifecycle.
Working closely with cross functional teams and external experts, you will drive scientific excellence, support evidence generation, and ensure all activities meet the highest ethical and compliance standards. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shape Medical Strategy: Develop and execute robust medical affairs plans aligned with brand, therapeutic area, and country strategy, ensuring scientific excellence and measurable outcomes.
• Lead Medical Projects: Deliver complex medical projects and pre marketing activities, track progress against KPIs, and generate insights to inform business decisions.
• Support Product Lifecycle: Provide medical leadership for product launches and lifecycle management, and evidence generation activities.
• Engage External Experts: Build and sustain credible partnerships with KOLs, investigators, societies, and represent the company at advisory boards, congresses, and educational forums.
• Provide Scientific Expertise: Act as the internal expert, ensuring medical accuracy and strategic insight across cross functional teams including Marketing, Market Access, Sales, and Clinical Research.
• Ensure Compliance: Uphold scientific integrity, manage competitive intelligence, and lead complaint processes in line with governance standards.
REQUIREMENTS
• Medical degree, PharmD, PhD, or advanced degree in life sciences; GMC registration with licence to practice if medically qualified.
• Significant experience in pharmaceutical Medical Affairs or equivalent medical/clinical field.
• In depth understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and NHS landscape.
• Proven ability to lead projects, influence senior stakeholders, and manage complex priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex medical data into actionable insights.
• Demonstrated capability to work effectively in cross functional, matrixed organisations.
