Amazon National Account Manager

THE POSITION

We are seeking a highly motivated National Account Manager to drive profitable growth for our Pet portfolio across key national retailers. This role is pivotal in developing strategic customer partnerships, enhancing category performance, and positioning Boehringer Ingelheim as the partner of choice within the pet retail landscape.

You will leverage market insight, strong commercial acumen, and collaborative business planning to deliver exceptional results for both the customer and the business.

 

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial & Sales Delivery

  • Achieve net sales revenue targets, ensuring all investments align with budget parameters.
  • Understand the retailer’s profit contribution and take actions to drive sustainable profitability.
  • Deliver against market share goals, identifying early trends, risks, and opportunities to maintain category leadership.
  • Evaluate the return on investment (ROI) of promotional and trade marketing activities and recommend improvements.
  • Track performance against budget, identify gaps, and take swift corrective action.

Customer & Business Planning

  • Build, negotiate, and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with customers and internal leadership teams, ensuring alignment to brand strategy and budget.
  • Provide monthly SKU-level forecasting with a minimum of 80% accuracy.
  • Develop comprehensive activation plans aligned to brand and commercial objectives, with clear profitability considerations.

Category & Shopper Focus

  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer and store shopper to position our pet products as category leaders.
  • Ensure plans enhance the shopper journey, driving visibility and purchase intent through data-led insights.
  • Translate market, brand, and shopper intelligence into actionable strategies.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure logistics and internal processes support customer needs for seamless execution.
  • Forecast and track rebate performance, reporting deviations and proposing solutions.
  • Lead resolution of rebate-related issues directly with customers.

Governance & Compliance

  • Fully adhere to all industry and organisational procedures (e.g., NOAH, SOPs, business rules).
  • Uphold the professional image and values of Boehringer Ingelheim at all times.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage day-to-day queries from customers and internal teams, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Coordinate online marketing activity across multiple stakeholders.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Proven experience as a Retail National Account Manager.
  • Experience in retail or OTC medicine sales; Amazon/eRetail experience essential.
  • Strong understanding of trade marketing, commercial planning, and sales data analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in managing both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a field‑based position, and travel across London and the South East will be required for meetings and site visits.
