Senior Business Analyst (Global Facility Management)

The Position


Are you passionate about helping an important global function drive sustainable efficiencies into their organization? Boehringer Ingelheim is on the lookout for a proactive and innovative Senior Business Analyst (Facility Management).
In this role you will lead the internal planning process for the FM function, ensuring the implementation of the FM strategy and identifying savings and efficiencies. You will develop benchmarks for the costs of services, guide budget decisions, and impose savings targets where necessary. Additionally, you help the Function prioritize and track transformational investment.

Tasks & responsibilities

 

  • Stepping into this pivotal role, you will assure FM strategic assumptions are properly reflected in the planning periods and successively implemented into operational spend.
  • You will embrace the responsibility as being the custodian of the global FM spend and spend management, proactively providing early warning for over- or underspend, as well as provide mitigation plans, being a trusted liaison with Financial Controlling and other stakeholders at all times.
  • You will analyze and spend patterns to improve planning cycle and coordinate the internal planning process to assure adherence to the global Controlling planning processes.
    Your proactive approach will shine as you develop processes and procedures or ways of working to ensure that the function has high level of transparency and visibility from our key / high-spend suppliers.
  • You will analyze deviations to plan and targets and proactive share with management for action.
    You will set up and manage appropriate processes to estimate, prioritize, approve and track spend associated with transformational investments on behalf of FM.
  • You will coordinate any financial efficiency targets that are placed on the function globally, distributing these targets into the countries.
  • Through your analytical prowess, you will follow existing processes to track and monitor savings across the FM operations globally.


Requirements

 

  • Master's degree or Diploma, preferably with a relevant background in Accounting; alternatively an Engineering or other Scientific degree, supplemented by robust professional experience in a Commercial function. You will ideally have experience on both client and supplier sides.
  • Proven familiarity with annual financial planning cycles in the Facility Management environment, coupled with a professional history in implementing cost tracking and monitoring at a global level
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal, that enable effective interaction and collaboration. Proven ability to work within a matrix environment is key.
  • Agile and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced environments while also demonstrating an interest in building sustainable and scalable processes, including being decisive and proactive in setting priorities, driving decisions, and achieving closure on recommendations and issues
  • Team-oriented yet autonomous, with the ability to work remotely and independently when required
  • High financial competency, with the talent to relate numbers on a spreadsheet to real-world activities, underscoring a practical understanding of financial management
  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken, with proficiency in German being a valuable asset
